According to the Bohol Chronicle, what appeared to be a windfall to investors has turned out to be the biggest scam ever discovered in the province.

The investment, which appears as a Foreign Exchange trading operation of a certain Niño Jedeaiah Ramos was exposed following an investigation conducted by the Criminal  Investigation  & Detection Group (CIDG) showing fraudulent activities victimizing the investors.

This came from a statement by CIDG Prov’l Chief Saturnino Estigoy.

A formal complaint was filed at the City Prosecutors Office against Ramos, who is known as Niño or Jed Ramos, after he allegedly denied giving his investors their gains and profits starting November.

Investigator-on-case PEMS Renato Garcia was the one who filed a complaint last Feb. 2, 2020, after the agency made a case build-up of the alleged investment scam.

Ramos, who is no longer reached by the investors was charged for Large Scale Estafa in violation of Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code.

Philippine National Police chief General Debold M. Sinas was was informed of the fraudulent activities.

The victim received a call from Estigoy who started to investigate the case. The CIDG filed the case on behalf of about six complainants who narrated in their respective affidavits how they were tricked in Ramos’s fraudulent scheme anchored on a “30 Days Investment”.

The said scheme claims that members would “pay in” and with the unlimited amount the member “would wait a period of 30 days for a guaranteed return of investment or a return of 23% gain/profit”.

The victims also testified that Ramos could have easily gained about P300 million of investments in the province.

Based on the report, the multi-million scam victimized some politicians, mostly town mayors, overseas contract workers, doctors, engineers, businessmen and retired professionals from the various towns.
