College Professor Mad At Deaf Student For Failing To Answer Him During Online Class

COLLEGE PROFESSOR MAD AT DEAF STUDENT – Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the educational system shifted online. However, this has caused several problems, especially to those who are disabled.

Recently, a college professor went viral after he got mad at a student who couldn’t answer him fast enough. But, the student’s classmates quickly came to her defense and told the professor that he was deaf.

When the deaf student got a chance to speak, he tried to explain to the professor: “I’m hard of hearing”. However, the professor spoke over him.

They explained that the delay was caused by a delay between the live feed and the translator. In order for the deaf student to understand the teacher, a translator has to translate for him. Unfortunately, with the online platforms, there was quite a bit of delay.

Still, the professor didn’t quite sympathize with deaf students. Instead, he got mad and asked the students that defended him if they were the translator. Here is the complete video:

After the video went viral, the Ventura County Community College District was made aware of the situation. As such, they released this statement:

“The Ventura County Community College District became aware of an incident with a faculty member at one of our colleges. The District is responding immediately and has initiated an investigation”.
