Cops Arrest Pineapple Vendor Who Steals ‘Karitilya’ From Milk Tea Shop in Quezon City
A pineapple vendor reportedly attempted to steal a cart from a milk tea shop in Barangay Ramon Magsaysay, Quezon City.
The pineapple vendor as Regie Martin reportedly tried to steal a cart from a milk tea shop but an elderly citizen immediately reported it to the store employees. The robbery incident happened on Thursday (February 19, 2021).
The suspect stole a “karitilya” placed outside the shop, which is used to carry heavy objects. The roving barangay officials caught the thief while trying to escape and immediately arrested him for his crime.
Regie admitted the crime and stealing the karitilya due to extreme poverty. The barangay officials reported that it was not the first time that the suspect has been involved in robbery. He previously stole a bicycle and got arrested but the owner withdrew the case out of sympathy.
The thief apologized to the employees of the milk tea shop and the management was able to recover the karitilya. However, the establishment would still file a case against Martin because of the crime he committed.
