Carmina Villarroel showed appreciation towards ABS-CBN
Kapuso actress-host Carmina Villarroel thanked ABS-CBN even though is in GMA-7 now because of this reason.
Carmina took a short break from the entertainment industry when she got pregnant with Mavy and Cassy. She and husband Zoren Legaspi went to the States.
Based on the article in PEP, that chapter of her life was a major turning point. In 2001, after giving birth, the actress felt uncertainty when it comes to her showbiz career.
However, that low point in her career received a lift when she got 2 offers from ABS-CBN.
“I was in the States, doon ko ipinanganak iyong kambal. ‘Tapos naalala ko si Tita Dolor (Dolor Guevarra, her manager) calling me up. ‘Mina, umuwi ka na dito, may dalawang shows na naghihintay sa iyo sa ABS,’” Carmina Villarroel shared.
She was offered to do the leading lady role in Recuerdo de Amor with Diether Ocampo. Aside from that, she resumed her stint in Oka Tokat that was halted when she went to the States.
“Doon ako talaga nagulat na parang wow! That’s why naman thankful ako, even if I’m with GMA now, thankful ako sa ABS,” the actress said. She appreciated the fact that the Kapamilya network trusted her and gave her many projects.
“Kasi feeling ko even if you gave birth already, even if you’re a mom already, hindi naman siya dapat maging hindrance sa career mo,” Carmina Villarroel said.
She added that she was already 26 years old at that time and she felt like she was just doing her thing as she loves being in the entertainment industry.
Carmina transferred to GMA in 2003 and became a Kapuso until 2011. She transferred back to ABS-CBN in 2012. In 2017, she became a Kapuso again.
