3,000 COPS DELOYED – According to the Police Regional Office (PRO-6), at least 2,678 officers will be deployed across West Visayas for COVID-19 vaccine roll-outs.

This February, the Philippines expected to receive its first doses of the new COVID-19 vaccine procured from the COVAX Facility. With this, the Philippines is hopeful that it would continue to flatten the curve of the new coronavirus.

With the vaccine being one of the most important assets to enter the country, the police wanted to ensure its safety during transportation. As such, Brigadier General Rolando Miranda said:

These personnel will provide security to the implementing teams from the Department of Health (DOH-6) and from the local government unit (LGUs)
