Pasay City Mayor Positive For COVID-19, Contact Tracing Underway
PASAY MAYOR POSITIVE – Emi Calixto-Rubiano, the Mayor of Pasay City, announced that she tested positive for COVID-19.
Furthermore, she said that contact tracing has been initiated to find where she got the virus from. Along with this, she wanted to ensure that those who have made close contact with her are also found.
As such, she said that she is currently under self-isolation. On her official Facebook page, she stated:
Ako po ngayon ay nag-isolate. Kasalukuyang isinasagawa na rin ang COVID 19 protocols ng lungsod on contact tracing sa maaaring naging source ng sakit at gayundin sa aking mga nakasalamuha upang maiwasan ang tuluyan pang pagkalat nito
Moreover, she emphasized that COVID-19 doesn’t choose its victims and that we need to get vaccinated against it. Additionally, she emphasized that we need to pray to God in order for us to overcome this illness.
Sa pangyayaring ito natin makikita na walang pinipili ang COVID 19 at talagang kailangan natin ang tulong ng pagpapabakuna at pananalangin sa Panginoon upang tuluyan nating mapagtagumapayan ang sakit na ito.
Currently, the Philippines has reported 538,995 cases of COVID-19. However, of this number 27,992 are considered as active cases. As of Monday, the Department of Health (DOH) reported 10,690 coronavirus cases with 299 active infections.
