Two Pedestrians Killed In Road Accidents In Quezon Province

QUEZON PROVINCE – Two pedestrians were killed in separate road accidents in the municipalities of Mulanay and Padre Burgos in Quezon province.

The provincial police there has reported that a dump truck driven by Iglecerio Dimaano bumped a car and a motorcycle before crashing a male pedestrian in one section of the Bondoc Peninsula Highway in Barangay Burgos, Padre Burgos town at 2:10 PM on February 3 (Wednesday).

According to Inquirer, the yet-unidentified victim, who was wearing short, black pants and a blue checkered polo shirt, died on a spot after sustaining fatal body injuries.

Dimaano was currently detained at the local police jail and will be charged regarding the mishap.

Based on the report, in Mulanay town, a white Canter close van, with the plate number EBT 841 and was driven by John Harold Mantes, a resident of Barangay Ibabang Yuni there, accidentally bumped Mila Pernia Mancia, aged 56 and also a resident of the said village.

Mancia was walking on the right side of the road prior to the accident. She was rushed to the district hospital in neighboring municipality od Catanauan but died along the way.

The owner of the said Canter, identified as Rey Mark Banawa, that Mantes had fled the scene of the incident and has gone into hiding.
