What did Sheryl Cruz and Sunshine Dizon say about the May-December love affair?
Kapuso actresses Sheryl Cruz and Sunshine Dizon shared their thoughts on the May-December love affair in a recent interview for their show together.
Sheryl and Sunshine star in the drama series Magkaagaw and one of the questioned that was asked to them during the interview was about having a relationship with someone who is much older or much younger than the other.
Sunshine said that there has been a stereotyping when it comes to this matter, based on the article in Bandera. “In our society now, palalampasin kung lalaki, e. Pero kapag ‘yung babae na ‘yung gumagawa, ang laking issue palagi,” the actress said.
She is also wondering why until now it’s a taboo and this has been lingering for the longest time. Sunshine pointed out that if this happens to a man, the public would easily accept it.
“I think those are the taboos that we should be breaking now. Dapat equal ‘yan kasi babae o lalaki pareho lang naman ‘yan,” Sunshine Dizon stressed.
For Sheryl Cruz, what her co-star said is true. She added that Filipinos have a different perspective on the May-December love affair issue.
“I think it’s just part of our tradition of being Filipinos na masyado tayong conservative. But then, kailangan nating sumabay sa panahon especially sa naayon sa panahon ngayon,” Sheryl said.
The actress added that it is happening all over the world and not just in the Philippines and that it is not an unusual story anymore. “Kung nagmamahalan talaga sila, I don’t see anything wrong with that,” she added.
