Four Suspected NPA Rebels Killed In Garchitorena Town, Camarines Sur

GARCHITORENA TOWN – Four suspected members of the New People’s Army were slain in a clash in Garchitorena town in Camarines Sur.

Philippine Army’s 9th Infantry Division public affairs office chief Captain John Paul Belleza said that the rebels, who remain unidentified, were killed in a clash against government troops, who were on combat patrol in Barangay Toytoy at around 11 AM, According to a report from Inquirer.

The killed suspects were said to be members of the New People’s Army Guerilla Front Larangan 1, who were operaing in Camarines Sur.

Retrieved from the clash scene were nine assault rifles belonging to the armed group, four of which were from the slain rebels. The companions of the killed suspects flead immediaely.

Based on the report, government troops were still in hot pursuit against the fleeing suspects.

Meanwhile, an the rebels had a clash against the government troops in the NPA hideout in Iloilo Province.

soldiers from the 61st Infantry Battallion recovered a pack of dried drug plant from the said hideout in Leon town.

This was after the government troops clashed with the 30 NPA members. The recovered illegal drugs were said to be used to recruit minors to join their armed group.
