ANGELICA PANGANIBAN – Following the recent speech of President Rodrigo Duterte, actress Angelica Panganiban shared an intriguing statement.

President Rodrigo Duterte speaking at the formal opening of the Skyway Stage 3 project made a comment about the presidency as being not designed for women. This has caught social media attention and even added that he’s been discouraging his daughter, Sara Duterte, to run for president.

The Chief Executive added that the emotional setup of women is different to that of men which is why he believed that the job of being a president does not fit for a woman. Reacting to this, Sara expressed no offense by the statement of his father because that is his opinion which she respects and if she would say the same thing, she believes he would also respect it.

And Angelica Panganiban, a famous actress who is vocal about her opinions and views over issues in politics and society, made an intriguing statement online. She wrote on Twitter, “Dun ako sa acting president na BABAE.”

To recall, the actress expressed regret endorsing President Duterte before during the 2016 national elections. It was amid the height of COVID-19 pandemic that she replied to one netizen who told her about it saying, “Yes. Nakakalungkot. Pero oo. Patawarin niyo ko.”

Meanwhile, remarks from President Duterte about women have been among the recurring issues during his reign. Previously, he cracked outrage for his jokes about malicious abuses, publicly kissing a migrant Filipino worker, and misogynist remarks about Vice President Leni Robredo.
