Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto Calls Filipino People to Trust FDA-Approved COVID-19 Shots

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto urged the Filipino people to trust the COVID-19 vaccines approved by the Philippine government.

On Tuesday (January 12, 2021), Mayor Vico Sotto is convincing the public to trust the vaccines against the coronavirus disease approved by the Food and Drug Administration after many Filipinos opposes to get anti-COVID shots.

The young Sotto understands that most people are afraid to receive vaccines against the contagious disease. He said that it is normal for people to feel fear but encouraged the Pasigueños and all Filipinos to trust the medical experts.

“Pero hinihikayat ko po na bawat mamamayan, bawat Pasigueño, bawat Pilipino, na magtiwala po tayo sa mga medical experts, magtiwala sa mga dalubhasa na pinagaralan, na nireresearch po iyong tungkol sa bakuna. Dahil kung walang bakuna, napakarami pa ring may polio. Kung walang bakuna napakarami pa ring may tigdas,” Sotto said.

The 31-year-old politician also told the Filipino people could assure the vaccine’s quality because it has the approval of Food and Drug Administration. FDA studied and researched well before approving the vaccines.

Almost half of the Philippine population do not want to receive the vaccine against SARS-CoV-2, according to Pulse Asia survey. Most of them believe that the respiratory ailment needs no cure.
