Christine was in the hotel to celebrate the New Year together with her friends. According to her companions, they had hard drinks and they played some parlor games.

However, Rommel Galido, one of the companions of Christine, claimed that he found her unconscious in a bathtub when he tried to wake her up in the morning of January 1. They tried to revive her.

The group informed the management of the hotel about it. When she was not revived, they rushed her to the hospital but she was declared dead on arrival.

Christine Angelica Dacera’s body was flown home to General Santos City and was already laid to rest last Sunday. Her family does not believe that it was aneurysm that caused her death and they seek for justice for her.

Currently, investigations on the Christine Dacera case are ongoing. Based on a report on ANC, both the Metro Manila Police and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) spoke on the probe.

According to Metro Manila Police, they will also check on the probable violations committed by the management of the hotel. Major General Vicente Danao cited that the hotel did not divulge immediately the names of those who booked the room 2207 and 2209.

“What we want is for the truth to come out… Sakali man na walang lalabas o walang lulutang para magbigay ng statement, so we will purely rely on the forensic science,” Danao said based on the report.

NBI was able to gather samples that has an “80%” chance of solving the Christine Dacera case before her body was laid to rest. According to NBI Deputy Director Attorney Ferdinand Lavin, the evidence points to a crime committed in the case.
