Former Kagawad Shot To Death In Naval Town, Biliran

NAVAL TOWN – A barangay kagawad was recently shot to death by a riding-in-tandem on Wednesday afternoon in Naval town, Biliran province.

According to a report from ABS-CBN News, the victim was identified as Romeo “Rome” Berdida, aged 55 years and, as mentioned, a former kagawad of Barangay Larrazabal.

An investigation from the Naval Police Station showed that the victim sustained a gunshot wound at the back of his head, which resulted to his eventual death.

Some of the witnesses testified that they heard a gunfire. They later found out that the former kagawad was the assailants’ target.

Recovered from the crime scene were two bullet cases from a firearm of yet unidentified caliber. Further probe was conducted by authorities, based on the report.

In a separate shooting incident, a soldier recently shot another soldier to death in a heated argument inside an Army camp in Zamboanga City.

The two were fighting due to the camp’s elevated water reservoir that overflowed unattended. The suspect was supposed to be on duty but failed because he was drunk.

The suspect then proceed to shoot the victim to death.
