Man Mistaken For Robber Shot By Policemen In Santa Rita, Pampanga
SANTA RITA – A man who was mistaken for a robber was recently killed by policemen in the municipality of Santa Rita, Pampanga.
The victim, identified as Federico Pineda Jr. was from his child’s birthday party when he was shot to death, according to a report from GMA News’ Balitambayan.
The police reported that they were on pursuit against a suspect of robbery. The victim allegedly did not stopped running when he was flagged down by the policeman, prompting them to chase and gunned the victim down.
The police who shot him, identified as Police Corporal Eframe Ramirez, is currently under police custody.
Central Luzon police chief Police Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon also ordered to disarm the cop, and vowed to conduct a thorough investigation/
“If found guilty, he will be meted with both administrative and criminal charges. We do not condone any irregularities from our personnel,”
The actual suspect the cops were pursuing, identified as Joven Basera, was arrested. Retrieved from Basera was P6,000 worth of cash which he stole from a store. He made no further statement.
Basera will be charged with robbery with frustrated murder, based on the report. The relatives of the victim cried justice for what happened.
