The role of Charlie Dizon in ‘Fan Girl’ was supposed to be played by this actress
This showbiz newbie who signed under GMA Artists Center, reportedly, was offered first to do the role of Charlie Dizon in the MMFF 2020 Best Picture ‘Fan Girl’.
The success of the said film directed by Antoinette Jadaone is indeed remarkable as it bagged many awards from the annual film festival. Many have recognized the talent of Charlie after watching the movie and her leading man Paulo Avelino got even more admirers.
In a previous article, it was revealed that Paulo was not the first choice for the said film. Reportedly, it was first offered to James Reid but he turned down the project.
In an interview, Direk Tonette also revealed that Charlie was just the second choice for ‘Fan Girl’. She did not name who the actress was but it was said that something came up with the contract and so an audition was held to find the new actress.
Based on the article from PEP, director-producer Dan Villegas mentioned that there were 600 actresses who auditioned before the role landed on Charlie Dizon.
When columnist Noel Ferrer asked someone from the production, it was revealed that the actress who was supposed to play the “Fan Girl” was from GMA Artists Center. The source mentioned the first name and it was “Yvette” but forgot her last name.
Last October, Yvette Sanchez was featured in this article of GMA Entertainment as one of the newest Kapuso artists. Is she the Yvette that the source was talking about?
It was also said that the talent management firm of the Kapuso network did not allow Yvette to do the said movie project. “Pity the girl, she really wanted to do it. Hindi lang siya pinayagan ng Artist Center,” a member of the production staff said.
