LRT 2 Gives Free Ride in Commemoration of Philippine Hero Jose Rizal
Light Rail Transit 2 (LRT 2) offers free ride to passengers this day Wednesday, December 30, in commemoration of the National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal.
According to their Twitter post, Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) said, free rides will be offered from 7 in the morning until 9 a.m. and from 5 in the afternoon until 7 p.m. This, in commemoration of the 124th anniversary of the heroism of Dr. Jose Rizal.
“Bilang pakikiisa ng @OfficialLRTA sa paggunita ng ika-124 na anibersaryo ng kabayanihan ni Dr. Jose Rizal, handog namin ang libreng bukas, ika-30 ng Disyembere, taong 2020,” the LRTA said in a tweet.
However, the Santolan, Katipunan, and Anonas stations of the LRT2 are still down after two rectifiers were damaged by a fire that previously hit the line. The incident happens last year, in October 2019.
Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has replaced the flags in front of the Rizal Monument at Rizal Park in Manila on Monday as preparation for the National Hero’s day.
Rizal Day is a Philippine national holiday commemorating the life and works of José Rizal, a national hero of the Philippines. It is celebrated every December 30, the anniversary of Rizal’s 1896 execution at Bagumbayan in Manila.
