Duterte is in Davao for Christmas
President Rodrigo Duterte spent Christmas with his former wife Elizabeth Zimmerman in Davao City.
PRRD and his former wife had been together for 25 years and they had three children – Paolo, Sara, Baste. Their children have ventured also in politics as Zimmerman used to a city councilor of Davao City where the Chief Executive also served as the Mayor for several terms.
After their annulment was granted in 2000 after two years since Elizabeth filed, the former couple remained friends and they would spend time together during special occasions. A recent photo uploaded on the official Twitter account of CNN Philippines showed that President Duterte spent Christmas in Davao City with his former wife.
It was said that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte posted the photo. In the photo, the President was eating while having an apparent conversation with his ex-wife who was sitting in front of him.
It is common knowledge that the president has a common-law wife, Honeylet Avanceña and they had been together for more than two decades now. They have a daughter named Veronica.
These two women in the life of President Rodrigo Duterte have supported his journey in politics and helped in campaigning for him during the presidential election in 2016.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive’s message for this holiday season focused n the “indomitable spirit” of Filipinos amid the tough year. He also expressed hopefulness that better days will come ahead as the tough times will pass.
“Let us also allow Christ into our lives so that we could bring love and cheer not only to our families and friends but also to those who are most in need,” the President said.
