Biliran Governor Rogelio Espina Releases Statement on COVID-19 Test Result
Biliran Governor Rogelio Espina and his wife, Dra. Cecil Espina, tested positive for the COVID-19 disease.
The threat of the COVID-19 disease is still present in the Philippines. The country is one of the 200+ nations and territories that recorded cases of this coronavirus disease.
In the Philippines, it is now a protocol to wear a face mask when going outdoors and to practice social distancing. The entire nation is still under community quarantine measures.
Metro Manila and several cities and provinces in the country with high cases of COVID-19 remains under General Community Quarantine (GCQ). Low-risk areas were placed under a Modified GCQ.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines, several politicians contracted the disease. Recently, the governor of Biliran released a statement over the result of his test.
In a Facebook post, Biliran Governor Rogelio Espina confirmed that he and his wife, Dra. Cecil Espina, tested positive for COVID-19. They took the test after two employees of the Governor’s Office tested positive for the coronavirus disease.
According to Gov. Espina, both employees who tested positive are asymptomatic or showing no signs of the disease. They are currently under isolation.
In his post, Biliran Governor Rogelio Espina said that he and Dra. Cecil are on a quarantine since Saturday. He also stated that both of them are asymptomatic and the contact tracing is ongoing now by the Naval MDRRMo.
“Hope we will go through this quarantine process with no complications. God Bless everyone and Stay Safe,” Gov. Espina said.
