Manila Cancels Holiday Break to Malate Police During Surprise Inspection

Manila Police chief Leo Francisco canceled the Christmas and New Year break for “Malate Police” on what he has witnessed during a surprise visit.

The Manila City government has implemented a stricter police visibility in the National Capital Region after Manila Police chief Leo Francisco scolded Malate police due to small number of police on duty.

Francisco conducts a surprise inspection and found only 20 police officers on duty out of 85 cops assigned in the station. The police executive has canceled the Christmas and New Year break of Malate police.

Malate Police Station Lt. Col. Robert Sales has been dismissed from his position. The cops including those who were taking day-off have been summoned for spot accounting.

The new Malate chief also noticed that a lot of cops were late and quickly leave after the spot accounting. The authorities also increased the police visibility in the area especially during the Christmas season.

The authorities would also monitor the physical distancing measures in Churches during Simbang Gabi or Dawn Masses.
