Clash In Maguindanao Leaves One Soldier Injured

CLASH IN MAGUINDANAO – A clash between two government troops and suspected members of the BIFF in Maguindanao leaves one soldier injured.

Chief of Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan Jr reported that the 34th Infantry Battalion were conducting operations at Sitio Macabenban, Barangay Indatuan in Northern Kabuntalan, Maguindanao, according to GMA News.

About 10 members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters under the command of one Omar Abdullah ensued a clash against 34IB troops. This lasted for 45 minutes. One soldier was injured as a result.

Retrieved from the clash were one caliber .45 pistol, one Barret caliber .50, five rifle grenades, one improvised explosive device, a commercial radio, and a motorized boat engine.

The wounded soldier is currently under treatment at Camp Siongco Station Hospital. A hot pursuit is ongoing to apprehend the remaining rebels.

Commander of the Joint Task Force Central Major General Juvymax Uy said that the military is on heightened alert to prevent the crimes of BIFF in Central Mindanao.
