Vivian Velez had this statement against the government
Veteran actress Vivian Velez, who is a known DDS (die-hard Duterte supporter) slammed the government for allegedly making her look like “pulubi”.
Vivian is one of the celebrities in the Philippines who are vocally showing support the Duterte administration. However, based on the article from entertainment columnist Rey Pumaloy in Abante, the veteran actress expressed her “hinaing” against Malacanang and some politicians just recently.
Reportedly, her predicament is regarding the upcoming Luna Awards of the Film Academy of the Philippines. Vivian is the director-general of FAP. When asked about the support that the awarding event receives from the government, the answer of the known DDS surprised Pumaloy.
Vivian Velez said that she aims to give recognition to the deserving personalities in showbiz but they lack funding. Because of this, she sent a letter to Malacanang concerning this matter and to ask for help. The veteran actress has done this several times already.
It was also said that she also approached some congressmen in order to ask help, however, she failed to get a response in her “panglilimos”. With this, Vivian said that she looked like a “pulubi” who is asking alms from them even though it is not for her own gain.
“Parang wala akon pera. I work hard. I have businesses. My businesses are doing very well. Hindi ko pinangarap na mag-beg ako. Pagdating sa FAP mukha akong pulubi,” Vivian Velez said.
Based on the article, the head of FAP also said directly that the government is not supporting the film industry, especially those films who was recognized in award-giving bodies abroad.
