Vico Sotto Early Christmas Gift To 4,339 Employees
VICO SOTTO – Mayor Vico Sotto gave an early Christmas gift to 4,339 employees of Pasig City.
Pasig City mayor Vico Sotto is admired by many Filipinos for his competence in leading his city. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he ensured that Christmas will still be merry.
The local government of Pasig allotted PHP204 million to distribute 360,000 Christmas gift bags for the residents. Each bag cost PHP565.
On Friday, Vico Sotto gave an early Christmas gift to thousands of Pasig City employees. He promoted 4,339 employees and increased their salaries.
The local chief executive said the employees of the city government who are earning PHP11,551 a month will receive a monthly salary of PHP13,572 by January next year. Sotto shared that the salary increases for the employees underwent a long tedious process but it was all worth it because they want to give decent wages for their workers.
“Mahaba at madugo ang proseso ng pagpapataas ng antas ng serbisyo ng lokal na pamahalaan. Giving our workers dignity and security is an important part of this,” Sotto wrote in a FB post on Friday night.

Vico Sotto said that they will also regularize 617 contractual employees who have been serving Pasig City for more than fifteen (15) years.
The long-term goal of the city government includes:
- Decent wages for all. No more SG-1. Utility worker natin at least SG-3 dapat (yung mga permanent subukan natin by 1st quarter next year);
- Regularization of employees (yung next batch natin nasa 617 empleyado na 15 yrs pataas nang kontraktwal.. kung pwede lang sanang sabay-sabay na lahat, pero kailangan strategic at responsable ang pag gawa natin nito);
- Capacity development (to improve service, and also so that more will be qualified for higher positions);
- Fully merit-based (unti-unti nating layuan ang kultura ng palakasan); and
- Nakangiti at walang nakasimangot na kawani ng gobyerno.
In a previous article, Vico Sotto’s statement for the Pasig City scholars won the hearts of many. He reminded them that they don’t owe their free educations to politicians.
