Christmas Food Packs for 650,000 Manileño Family is Ready to be Distribute

Manila local government now readies Christmas food packs to be distributed to 650,000 Manileño family in the coming holiday season.

Food Packs for Manileño

In October, Mayor Isko Domagoso assured that his countrymen will receive food packages to share at Christmas. Although it is not very pompous, the important thing is that all Manileño families have food served on ‘Noche Buena’.

“Kahit papaano sa Pasko may mapagharimunan sila because 50% of that load is dedicated for Christmas, at least mayroon silang spaghetti, macaroni… mababawasan ang gutom ng mga taga-lungsod. Hindi magarbo, pero may mapapagharimunan,” said Mayor Isko Domagoso.

Some of these are said to be currently stored in the Pritil Market and may be distributed in the coming days. Aside from food packs, every senior citizen of the city will also receive additional gift packs and five kilos of organic rice.

“Lucky for you if you are a senior, very expensive and very nutritious ang rice para sa inyo. Ang good news, bibilhin natin sa Mindanao itong black rice o red rice,” according to Mayor Isko.

In October at a meeting, Isko also assured that the local government will continue to act to address the issue of hunger and malnutrition throughout Manila.

“Involuntary hunger… we will try to address that and technically, with or without the survey, you will expect that there will be some challenges in the lives of every family in the City of Manila,” he said.
