Dismissed Police Arrested After Fish Delivery Trucks Complaints of Money Extortion

A police who was dismissed from service arrested for money extortion after accused of getting money from the fish delivery truck drivers.

A policeman who was fired from his service arrested during an entrapment operation inside the Navotas Fish Port Complex (NFPC) in Navotas City. According to the report of Hataw, he is extorting money in every delivery truck in the said port.

The suspect, identified as Don De Quiroz Osias II, 39, a resident of Rodriguez Subdivision, Dampalit, Malabon City, was wearing a police field service uniform (FEU) when he was arrested by Northern NCR Maritime Police Station (MARPSTA) head by P / May Rommel Sobrido.

The suspect was arrested along Bañera St., NFPC after receiving P100 marked money from Pat. The suspect is now being monitored by Maritime police personnel while undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, operatives recovered P100 marked money, P470 cash, and a motorcycle he used in his illegal activity.

Prior to the arrest of the suspect, P / Col. Ricardo Villanueva, chief of the Regional Maritime Unit-NCR said he received several complaints from delivery truck drivers of the said alias Don.

The suspect proclaimed himself as a member of the Maritime police and asked them for money. This serves as a reason for MARPSTA personnel to conduct an entrapment operation against the suspect.

According to truck drivers Bryan Alcantara, 36, Gilbert Delia, 48, Cyril John Diaz, 36, and Bonifacio Salinay, 47, positively identified De Quiroz Osias asking them for money every time they pass by Bañera St., NFPC, NBBS Proper.

Malabon police chief P / Col. Angela Rejano informed that the suspect was reported to have been AWOl two years ago after entering service in 2008 and is wanted by the police for his extortion activities in Malabon City.
