PDP-Laban New President Senator Manny Pacquiao to Stop Corruption

The new Philippine Democratic Party-People’s Power or PDP-Laban President Manny Pacquiao urge members to shun all forms of corruption.

Senator Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao now took over the position of being a President of the ruling party in the Philippines. It is the political party President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

On their fellowship night in Quezon City, Pacquiao will lead the fight against corruption in the Philippines. He described corruption as the “cancer that has tormented our government for generations.”

“Galit na galit ako sa mga kurap na mga opisyales pati na rin sa mga kurap na government workers. Sila ang nagnanakaw ng pera ng bayan, pera na dapat ay para sa mga programa at proyekto na makakatulong sa ating mga naghihirap na kababayan,” the boxer-turned-senator said.

“Kalaban natin ang mga kurakot. Ang ninanakaw nila ay inuutang pa natin. Nakakalungkot na milyon-milyong mga kababayan natin ang nagugutom, nagkakasakit at nawawalan na ng pag-asa habang ang bilyon-bilyon naman ay ninanakaw ng iilan sa gobyerno,” he added.

Aside from leading the party against corruption, Pacquiao said the PDP-Laban will also focus on pushing for peace and economic development and helping to set long-term goals for the country.

Pacquiao replaces Senator Aquilino Pimentel III as party president. Pimentel will serve as the party’s executive vice-chairman. House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco also take the oath for the position of Executive Vice President of the political party.
