Manny Pacquiao talked about his children in a recent interview
Senator Manny Pacquiao shared that he and his wife Jinkee Pacquiao want their children to experience “buhay ng mahihirap”.
It is known to many that the boxing champ turned politician came from a humble beginning. His story is a perfect example of “rags to riches” plot. From being an aspiring boxer, he was able to reach the status of being one of the wealthiest sports personalities.
Behind his success, Pacquiao has never denied where he came from and how he struggled when he was just starting. He and Jinkee are trying that their children would also somehow experience what they had experienced.
In one instance, the couple let their children eat “saging with bagoong”. They said that it was their favorite snack in the province when they were younger. Manny and Jinkee also let their children experience washing their own clothes and washing their dishes.
In a recent interview, based on the article from Bandera, Manny Pacquiao said that they intentionally teach their children the ways of people who are not rich.
“Tinuturuan namin sila ng mga gawaing bahay, yung mga ginagawa ng mga naghihirap na tao. Actually, dinala nga namin sila sa GenSan para mag-aral. Doon sila nakapag-aral ng dalawang taon para ma-experience nila yung buhay ng mahihirap,” the Senator said.
He also shared that their children went to school in General Santos where there as no aircon. The lawmaker intended to show them that life is not all comfort.
“Pero yung pinagdaanan namin, gusto ko ma-realize nila para pagdating ng araw, hindi sila matapobre. Gusto namin sila maging compassionate and helpful to others. ‘Yan ang gusto ko sa kanila,” he added.
Manny Pacquiao also said that he has good children who always follow their advice.
