KC Concepcion on being in the ‘middle of two families na di magkaka-pamilya’
Actress KC Concepcion opened up about her relationship with the families of her parents Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion.
At a young age, KC witnessed her parent’s separation. Although Sharon and Gabby have their own families now, the fact will remain that KC is their first born.
In a recent interview with Philstar’s Ricky Lo, the actress was asked about her parents, and she generously this part of her life to the public. She shared that she has constant communication with her mom through text because Sharon is not fond of calling.
“Hindi talaga siya (mahilig) tumawag sa phone, but she’s always there naman,” KC Concepcion said. The actress also shared that since the age gap that she has with the daughters of Sharon with Sen. Kiko Pangilinan is big, they haven’t had that bonding.
“My sisters and I do video calls but since they are mas younger than me, hindi ko pa rin magamay kung paano makikipag-bonding sa kanila,” KC said. Since her mother and her stepfather also have their own “ganap”, their schedule do not go well with each other’s available time.
However, the actress said that having this setup is “interesting”. “It’s a very interesting situation to be in the middle of two families na hindi magkaka-pamilya… ‘yung pamilya ng Tatay ko at ‘yung pamilya ng Nanay ko,” she shared.
For KC, it is really a balancing act and just let the past be in the past. When asked about Gabby’s partner Ginbee, the actress said that she is comfortable with her.
“She’s really kind and generous. She encourages me and my dad to bond. I really thank her for that. I told her, ‘Tita, you’re not the typical stepmother.’ She helps my dad and me with our schedules,” KC Concepcion added.
With her stepsisters with Gabby, the actress said that they are regularly checking each other as she is closer with them.
