Michele Gumabao says sorry to Marco Gumabao due to this
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 2nd runner-up Michele Gumabao revealed that she apologized to her younger brother actor Marco Gumabao after the pageant because of this.
Marco has been supporting his sister’s pageant stints. After the MUP coronation, the actor shared a message for her sister. He said this in his Instagram post after the pageant:
“I’m proud of you! Of course, I don’t agree with the decision, but now is not the time to be bitter about it. I know this is God’s plan. We’re just getting started.”
Michele was not the only one who received bashing after the MUP 2020 as she was accused of not accepting her defeat. Even her brother received negative comments.
The post of Miss Universe Philippines National Director Shamcey Supsup saying that real queens know how to accept defeat even aggravated the issue.
Amid this issue, based on the article from PEP, Michele Gumabao drew strength from her family. “Si Marco nagmi-message sa akin, ‘Ate, ang dami ko rin bashers.’ Sabi ko, ‘Grabe, parang hindi na lang ako yung nandito na lumalaban,” the beauty queen said.
Michele shared that this prompted her t to speak once and for all through her vlog addressing this issue. She also got worried that her younger sister was dragged into this matter. The beauty queen said that she apologized to Marco due to this.
“So, ako rin, sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Sorry,’ dahil nadamay nga siya doon. Sabi nga niya sa akin, ‘Di, okay lang ito. Di naman nila alam yung totoong nangyari, or wala naman silang alam. Di ka naman nila kilala,’” Michele Gumabao said.
