Isabela Governor complains about ABS-CBN News crews being nowhere to be found during severe flooding.
ABS-CBN NEWS – ANC news anchor Christian Esguerra slams Isabela Governor Rodito Albano for complaining about absence of ABS-CBN News crew.
Since two strong typhoons hit the Philippine consecutively, many people realized of how important the role of regional channels and networks of ABS-CBN. Being the largest network in the country, they can reach far flung areas to send help and get updates that other networks can’t.
However, they were taken off an opportunity to have a fresh 25-year franchise for an overwhelming 70 votes from lawmakers flooded to junk their bid. And with what happened to Isabela, Cagayan Valley, and Tuguegarao suffering from severe flooding as a result of heavy downpour from typhoon and weather changes, Isabela Governor Rodito Albano complained about the network’s news crews absence.
This is what he expressed during an interview in ABS-CBN News Channel with Christian Esguerrra. However, the news anchor, in front of the governor, took a swipe in his face saying that the network has been closed down, thus, they cannot do what he’s complaining about. Esguerra then asked the governor, “Alam niyo naman yun, di ba? How could you forget that?”
Unguarded and not expecting that heavy response, the governor just laughed nervously, taken aback, and ultimately changed the topic leading to talking about possible solutions. To recall, Antonio Albano, Ian Paul Dy (Isabela 3rd District), Alyssa Sheena Tan (Isabela 4th District), Faustino Michael Dy (Isabela 5th District), and Faustino Dy (Isabela 6th District) were the officials from Isabela who voted to shut down the network.
Kuya Kim in a post mocked his reaction and questioned why he would complain about such matter if one from his family voted to shut down the network who could have helped a lot with their situation. He added, “Natawa si gov. Natawa din ako.”
