Here Is The Best Time And Place To Watch The Leonid Meteor Shower In The Philippines
LEONID METEOR SHOWER – The Philippines is getting a celestial spectacle this week with shooting stars dancing throughout the night sky.
The Leonid Meteor Shower is about to begin and more importantly, it’s going to be seen in the country. As such, PAGASA Astronomical Observation and Time Service Unit Chief Mario Raymundo gave out tips on how to best experience the event.
According to Raymundo, the shower would peak on Tuesday. However, he emphasized that it would still be visible two days before and after. The shower could be visible from midnight until dawn. But, the best time to view the Leonid Meteor Shower in the PH is from 2:00 – 4:00 a.m.
Furthermore, if you’re living near the shore then you’re in luck. Reymundo said the ideal location to view the shower is from provinces or shores. But, if you are living in urban areas, it should also be visible as no weather disturbances are forecasted.

Ang observation ng meteor showers, kailangan nasa madilim kang lugar. So advisable, mas maganda sa probinsya, sa baybaying dagat. Pero dito sa siyudad, maraming city light, medyo malilimitahan ang makikitang shooting stars
Reymundo also reminded viewers to watch out for the “Leo constellation” as the shower’s track heads toward it. Additionally, you wouldn’t need special equipment to view the shooting stars.
