VP Leni Robredo Shares Fake News On Twitter To Warn Against Misinformation

ROBREDO SHARES FAKE NEWS – Vice President Leni Robredo warned her followers about fake news against her posted by a netizen on Twitter.

After the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses, the Office of the Vice President was quick to respond to the needs of those affected by the storm. As such, she and her team quickly flew to affected regions to personally assess the situation and give aid.

However, people continue to share fake news about her efforts to help those in need. On Twitter, user @talkiooo posted an image of Leni Robredo with the caption:

“Yung mga bantay mo sana tumulong na lang sa rescue. Kakahiya naman sayo”.

However, the Vice President quickly wanted to set things straight. Robredo explained that the picture was not taken during Typhoon Ulysses, Furthermore, it wasn’t even taken this year.

FAKE NEWS. Please help report. This picture was taken 2 years ago when I visited Agutaya, Northern Palawan. Naglakad po kami from the boat to the shore kasi hindi na kayang makalapit nung sinakyan namin. Hindi po ito ngayong bagyo.

Meanwhile, some netizens cited that it was obviously an old photo since nobody was wearing masks. They explained that members of the Vice President’s team would obviously follow health protocols, especially amid the pandemic.

The photo on the now-deleted Tweet was actually from 2018 in Agutaya, Palawan. It was for a series of turnovers of donations under the OVP’s Angat Buhay program. Additionally, around 165 solar units from Team Energy Foundation Inc. were turned over.
