Marikina City is also one of the cities greatly affected by Typhoon Ulysses. Mayor Marcy Teodoro already called out for help from the national government as many residents were stuck in their rooftops.

According to the Marikina Mayor, they have 50 rubber boats but those were not enough to rescue the residents stuck in their rooftops. Some 30,000 houses were submerged in flood water.

Mayor Teodoro expressed that air rescue is needed by some residents. Many areas that are not flood-prone areas were reached by the water level thus many were stuck.

A celebrity couple was spotted helping some of the residents in Marikina City amid the heavy flooding. According to Kapamilya Online World, Jericho Rosales and his wife, Kim Jones, use surfboards to help the rescuers who were at a private village adjacent to the river in Tumana.
