During an interview with ABS-CBN’s TeleRadyo, Naujan Mayor Mark Marcos said the local government has been coordinating with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) of Occidental and Oriental Mindoro.

As per the interview, the Mayor said:

Itong Ulysses ay aming inaabangan pa simula pa kahapon. Ang ating PDRRMO on top of the situation at nagpapa-alala sa ating mamamayan

Furthermore, he said that they didn’t wait around for the storm to get closer. The town mayor immediately deployed officials to announce the upcoming Typhoon so residents, especially in the coastal areas could evacuate.

“Meron na kaming mga kababayan na lumikas na rin, ‘yung iba nasa may simbahan na ‘di na rin nagdadalawang-isip.”, he added. Currently, several areas in Oriental Mindoro are under signal no. 2 due to Ulysses including Naujan.
