JANINE TUGONON – Miss Universe Philippines 2012 Janine Tugonon finally opens up about her 4-year Italian-Belgian boyfriend.
31-year old Filipina beauty queen Janine Tugonon is Miss Universe Philippines 2012 who finished 1st Runner-up in Miss Universe 2012, the international pageant. She nearly got the crown and she’s one of the best representatives that the country ever had.
She is one of the few queens who opted to live a quite private life abroad after her stint and been always shying away to talk about her love life. To recall, her split with her ex-boyfriend then Jaypee Santos was publicized. They broke up after she joined the said international pageant.
In her recent interview with G3 San Diego, she revealed that to live abroad is her dream ever since. She wanted challenge and change but her young dream has always been the biggest factor why she left the Philippines.
Now, opening up about her love life, she shared that she’s been in a 4-year relationship with an Italian-Belgian guy named Erik. Accordingly, she met him when she decided to move to New York from Los Angeles.
She asked this someone if he ever needs a place to rent and that someone, unfortunately, don’t need one. However, he knew a person who needs a place to rent and there came Eric. He rented her place for a month and it was where it all started.
“Mineet ko siya kasi I still have things sa LA noon. Doon nag-start. Parang ako ‘yung landlord niya for a month. May nakita daw siyang picture na nagandahan siya,” she recalled. Accordingly, he’s never been to Philippines but wanted to go to the country and settle down in here with her and put up a business.
The beauty queen, for her part, still doesn’t know if she wants her boyfriend’s plan but, on the other hand, he called the country a “paradise” for its beautiful beaches. As much as we are all aware of, Tugonon has been living in United States for seven years now. She came back to the country just recently to judge the recently-concluded Miss Universe Philippines 2020.
