RABIYA MATEO – Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo possess these traits that the previous MUPH queens also have.
After the MUPH 2020 pageant, controversies followed after other candidates Michele Gumabao and Sandra Lemonon shared their intriguing reactions. They are considered as veterans in the field both lost to a neophyte Rabiya Mateo who was crowned as Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She’s from Iloilo City.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Top 5 were as follows:
- 1st runner-up: Maria Ysabella “Bella” Ysmael, Parañaque
- 2nd runner-up: Michele Gumabao, Quezon City
- 3rd runner-up: Pauline Amelinckx, Bohol
- 4th runner-up: Kimberly “Billie” Hakenson, Cavite
Now, what does Mateo have that the past Miss Universe bets of the country also have? She is half-Filipino at half-Indian which is the same with Miss Universe 2010 4th runner-up Venus Raj. And just like the beauty queen before, she also hopes to see her father after winning the pageant.
She is a physical therapist just like Miriam Quiambao who won first runner-up in Miss Universe 1999. Just like Janine Tugonon, who won first runner-up in 61st Miss Universe in 2012, she also graduated as cum laude. And if ever the Miss Universe this year will be pushed through, she is 24 years old the same age that Catriona Gray, the crowned Miss Universe 2018, also joined the pageant.
And just recently, in an interview, she revealed that she’s in a relationship and vowed not to end relationship whatever may happen. However, pattern had been noticed by a lot of people where the previous queens told the same thing but still end up breaking up with their partners.
