NDRRMC Says Typhoon Rolly Affects Over 2 Million Residents in 12 Regions

NDRRMC reported that the Typhoon Rolly has affected over two million residents from 12 different regions in the country.

On Monday (November 2, 2020), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that around 2,068,085 individuals in 12 different regions suffered from the impact of Typhoon Rolly.

The typhoon affects Regions I, II, III, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, Cordillera Administrative Region and the National Capital Region and even took the lives of at least 10 people, according to NDRRMC executive director Ricardo Jalad.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año reported that there are still some missing residents. He also said that preemptive evacuation they have implemented prevents the increase in number of casualties.

Agriculture Secretary William Dar said that Rolly causes agricultural damage worth P1.1 billion but he assured that the Department of Agriculture to provide seeds for replanting. They would also distribute 2,000 kilograms of assorted vegetable in CALABARZON, Bicol and MIMAROPA.

Typhoon Rolly with international name Goni packing maximum sustained wind speeds of 225 kilometers per hour is considered as the strongest typhoon of the year, which pounded the Philippines.
