Phoebe Walker Rejects Lead Role in International Film Due to This Reason
Actress Phoebe Walker revealed she rejects international film lead woman role offer due to the uncomfortable requirement she needs to do.
In an exclusive interview with PEP, Phoebe Walker admits that she received an international movie offer during the lockdown. But she refused because he was uncomfortable with a scene he was asked to do — being undress in front of the camera.
“During the lockdown, I had an offer to shoot in France for an international movie with an American director, and I was one of the lead women. However, I had to decline the offer because it required nudity and I didn’t feel like this was the right project to do that,” she said.
“Although my heart remains open to working on international projects, I’m afraid that particular requirement is off the table for me,” Phoebe added.
According to the article, Phoebe has already had a frontal nudity scene in the director’s cut of Seklusyon. The supernatural horror movie is memorable for her because she won the best-supporting actress in the 42nd edition of the Metro Manila Film Festival in December 2016.

Meanwhile, Phoebe did not lose her job when the community quarantine was enforced in the country on March 15, 2020, because she opened a business. She started her own chili business, making chili garlic sauce in three varieties.
“It motivated me to push beyond my comfort zone and I’ve always been vocal about starting my business for times na walang ganap”
“And I’m happy with its turnout. I’m currently looking for distribution channels, apart from my two current locations in Pasig and Marikina,” she said.
After the community quarantine was eased in Metro Manila, Phoebe was immediately given a movie project, the Parang Kayo Pero Hindi, which had a lock-in shoot in Alaminos, Pangasinan.
She will also make a film that will be included in a film festival and scenes that will be taken in Baguio City and, hopefully, in South Korea. Kylie Verzosa, Marco Gumabao, and Xian Lim are Phoebe’s co-stars in Parang Kayo Pero Hindi, her first acting assignment for 2020.
She plays the role of Emily who falls in love with Joaquin (Xian Lim) but never gets love back. She also said that she enjoys this role as she has been asking for rom-com projects for a very long time.
“Lahat ng hugot dito ni Emily ramdam na ramdam ko, channelling of course my own disappointments and that of those close to me. Ganda ng mga linyahan dito and ang ganda ng pagkasulat. Hoping I can play more relatable characters like this,” she said.
She further said that this is her first acting job for the year 2020 because the two projects she supposed to shoot was postponed. “So, shooting again was such a release for me, literally and emotionally,” she said.
