Meanwhile, the Philippine Coast Guard reported a rescue of seven of the eight crew members of a yacht that sunk near Bauan town, Batangas.

Quinta ran through the Philippines and affected Bicol, Calabarzon, and Mimaropoa regions with winds speeds of 125 kilometers per hour. Along with this, the typhoon carried gusts of up to 150 kph.

This caused severe flooding and led to the mandatory evacuation of tens of thousands of residents in the provinces. According to the latest weather update, the weather bureau said Quinta would continue to affect the country’s weather condition as it heads towards the West Philippine Sea.

Typhoon Quinta is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains over Western Visayas, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan including Calamian, Cuyo, and Kalayaan Islands, Aurora, Isabela, Cagayan and light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and the rest of Luzon and Visayas.
