MICHELE GUMABAO BIOGRAPHY – Here are some things you probably don’t know yet about Michele Gumabao, a strong Miss Universe PH 2020 candidate.
Michele Theresa Imperial Gumabao is the full and real name of beauty queen and national athlete Michele Gumabao. She’s a famous volleyball player who is known as one of the varsity players of De La Salle University women’s volleyball team, the Lady Spikers.
She was born on September 2, 1992, in San Mateo, California. She attended School of the Holy Spirit of Quezon City before going to De La Salle University and adding to impressive list of her achievements, she is a consistent Dean’s Lister as a student. She graduated Bachelor of Science degree with a major in marketing management in 2013.
From 2010 to 2013, she’s a part of the DLSU volleyball team and won three consecutive championship titles in the UAAP. During season 73 and 74, she was hailed as Best Blocker and the Most Valuable Player on season 75. As a professional volleyball player, she played in teams such as PCSO Bingo Milyonaryo Puffins, AirAsia Flying Spikers, Generika Lifesavers, Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors, and Creamline Cool Smashers.
Last 2018, she joined Binibining Pilipinas 2018 pageant and was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2018. In the international stage of the pageant, she won Miss Social Media and Dream Girl awards finishing at Top 15.
Joining pageants, she faced criticisms about her body which she took positively. They say her legs are too big and being muscular but for her these things that people talked bad about helped her to get where she is now. Her legs got her “through years of intense volleyball, allowed me to jump, play. and win”. She believed that muscles are made for champions and she could just let them hate.
