PAGASA – Pepito Moves Towards West PH Sea, TCWS No. 2 Over 6 Areas This October 21, 2020

PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day, October 21, 2020 (Wednesday).

The severe weather bulletin from the state bureau says that Tropical Storm Pepito has crossed northern Luzon and is now over the Lingayen Gulf.

According to GMA News, Pepito is set to move westward over the West Philippine Sea on this day before slowing down and turning northwestward. It is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Thursday morning or afternoon.

The weather disturbance is expected to accelerate and turn westward beginning Friday towards the central portion of Vietnam.

The Tropical Storm is set to gradually intensify over the West Philippine Sea and may reach severe tropical storm category by Thursday afternoon or evening.

Pepito will bring moderate to heavy rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, La Union, Apayao, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Calamian Islands.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, will face light to moderate with at times heavy rains.

Based on the report, Pepito was last spotted at 40 kilometers North Northwest of Dagupan City, Pangasinan. It is packed with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 115 kilometers per hour. It is moving West Northwestward at about 30 kilometers per hour.

    • Iba

    • Cabangan

TCWS No. 1 is hoisted over the following:

  • Ilocos Norte
  • Kalinga
  • Abra
  • Ifugao
  • Mountain Province
  • the southern portion of Isabela
    • Palanan
    • San Mariano
    • Benito Soliven
    • Naguilian
    • Gamu
    • Burgos
    • San Manuel
    • Aurora
    • Cabatuan
    • Luna
    • Reina Mercedes
    • Cauayan City
    • Dinapigue
    • San Guillermo
    • Angadanan
    • Alicia
    • San Mateo
    • Ramon
    • San Isidro
    • Echague
    • San Agustin

The bureau warned that flash floods and landslides may occur during heavy or prolonged rainfall especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards.

The northeasterly surface wind flow will bting High to gale-force winds over the rest of northern Luzon, especially in coastal and mountainous areas.

Areas where TCWS and Gale Warning are in effect will be faced by Rough to very rough seas.

These conditions are expected over the entire seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon, the seaboard of northern Quezon including Pollilo Islands, and the western seaboards of Batangas, Occidental Mindoro (including Lubang Islands), and Palawan (including Calamian and Kalayaan Islands).
