Heart Evangelista Reveals “Worst Teleserye” She Did In ABS-CBN

Here’s why Heart Evangelista calls this teleserye with ABS-CBN as the “worst”.

HEART EVANGELISTA – Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista why “Hiram Na Mukha” series in ABS-CBN was one of the worst she has ever done.

In recent YouTube upload of actress and fashion icon Heart Evangelista, she recalled her life before way back when she was just starting as an artist by watching her old videos. She cringes every time she remembers what she did in the past and would tell stories behind every video.

And in one clip, it showed one teleserye she top billed in ABS-CBN entitled “Hiram Na Mukha“, a remake of Nanette Medved’s 1992 movie where she has to wear all the prosthetics and play the “taong unggoy” role. It was that time she started to be independent from her parents and start earning money from her own hard work.

It was accordingly the worst as she had to wear the prosthetics for a full day while taping and there was no way in it for her to breath. What she just did to get through it is to remember that she had to fend for herself and there’s no other way for her to earn but to do the roles she was given.

The series was an installment under the SineSerye umbrella series where she portrayed the role of Carissa, a woman born with a disfigured face and ridiculed in her town as “taong unggoy”. Carissa then met Dr. Hugo played by TJ Trinidad and she was used by him to do new surgical procedure.

It was a successful operation for her and plotted for revenge for those people who done wrong to her. But the twist of the story is, she had the doctor’s wife face. It was a borrowed face, thus, the title.

What made everything more difficult and challenging for her to play the role is to do a crying scene with the prosthetics. She shared, “Puro iyak pa iyong scenes, so iyong sipon would be here [inside the mask] and I have to squeeze it up like that [to the mask’s nostrils], so I’d take it out from the top part, it was so bad.”
