PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE PHILIPPINE FLAG – We are going to learn and read about the Pledge Of Allegiance To The Philippine Flag.
The pledge is one of the two national pledges of the Philippines, with the other being the Patriotic Oath (“Panatang Makabayan”).
As the name suggests it is a pledge to the national flag of the country and is usually recited at flag ceremonies after the National Anthem and the Patriotic Oath. Its local name is “Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat ng Pilipinas“.
Here is the full text of the pledge:
I am a Filipino
I pledge my allegiance
To the flag of the Philippines
And to the country it represents
With honor, justice and freedom
That is put in motion by one nation
For the love of God, People, Nature and
Country.

Ako ay Filipino
Buong katapatang nanunumpa
Sa watawat ng Pilipinas
At sa bansang kanyang sinasagisag
Na may dangal, katarungan at kalayaan
Na pinakikilos ng sambayanang
Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan at Makabansa.
