PAGASA – LPA, Habagat To Bring Cloudy Skies, Scattered Rains This October 8, 2020

PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day, October 8, 2020 (Thursday).

The early morning forecast from the state weather bureau says that the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was last spotted over the coastal waters of San Pascual, Masbate, while the southwest monsoon or habagat will affecting southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Accordiong to GMA News, LPA and habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao. The bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the northeasterly surface windflow or NESWF will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley.

Based on the report, the eye of Typhoon Chan-Hom was last spotted at 1,360 kilometers northeast of extreme northern Luzon as of 3 AM. It is packed with maximum sustained winds of up to 130 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 160 maximum sustained winds. It is moving northwestward at the speed of 15 kilometers per hour

For the wind speed forecast, northern Luzon will have strong winds that are moving northeastward while facing rough coastal waters.

Central and Southern Luzon will have moderate to strong winds that are moving in the northeast to northwest direction while facing rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds that are moving in the southwest to southeast direction while facing rough coastal waters.
