Rachelle Ann Go Shares Love Story W/ Husband Martin Spies
RACHELLE ANN GO – Broadway star Rachelle Ann Go shared a glimpse of how love story with husband Martin Spies started.
Filipina singer and international musical theater singer Rachelle Ann Go become engaged to Martin Spies in early September 2017. The love of her life is an American businessman born in South Africa and based in New York City.
Rachelle and Martin tied the knot on April 18, 2018 in Boracay Island. The Broadway star recently gave her fans on a tour of their house in London.
On her latest vlog, Rachelle shared for the first time about how she met her husband. She said she met him in New York during her Broadway run for Miss Saigon.
The 34-year-old celebrity revealed that she first saw Spies at a school auditorium while attending a Sunday Service for a Christian church. She said, “I was walking down the aisle. Naramdaman ko lang may nakatayo. Someone was standing like in the corner. Napatingin lang ako. Nag-palpitate. Napa-double look ako. Pero nag-slow mo talaga. Sabi ko talaga ‘This is the guy I’m going to marry’. Ganu’n. Talagang ganu’n sinabi ko.”
“But then, I was like ‘C’mon, Shin. Focus. You’re here in Church. You’re going to focus. You’re not supposed to look at anyone. So ‘yun talaga. I was trying to discipline myself to just focus ‘di ba nandito ka for God? So that was the first time I saw you,” she added.

Before she saw Spies, a Filipina friend of hers kept telling her about a “good-looking” guy at the Christian church. But little did Rachelle know that the said guy was man she saw when she attended the Sunday service.
“The following week Tita Ritz went with me. And then after the service, Tita Ritz was like ‘Shin, the guy I was talking about, he’s here.’ So sabi ko ‘Tita, ayokong makilala.’ So hinila ako. Siyempre poker face. So that’s how I felt the first time I saw you. I was like so nervous. And then I told her, ‘Tita, that was the guy I saw last week and I told myself that’s the guy I’m going to marry,” Rachelle said.
Martin Spies on the other hand, recalled how he started to like the Filipina theater actress the moment he was introduced to her. He shared he even tried looking her up on the internet.
“And then that second Sunday that you were, that’s when I was coming down the stairs into the auditorium and I saw Ritz and you were standing behind her and she introduced us. And I was wondering, ‘Wow who is this new member of the Church?’ So then, after that I started asking around and Googling a little bit. No, I might have checked Wikipedia,” said Martin.
