Late actor Chadwick Boseman did his last acting role in the movie Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom with Oscar-winner Viola Davis.

The actor who was popularly known for giving justice to the character of T’Challa in Marvel’s Black Panther, died last August after battling cancer for four years. His death was mourned by the entertainment industry and many of his fellow celebrities posted tributes for him as an actor and as a wonderful human being.

Just recently, Netflix released photos of Chadwick taken from his last acting role. He is trumpeter Levee in the movie that tells the story of “Mother of the Blues” Ma Rainey. The film is based on the play of the same name by August Wilson. Denzel Washington, who is also a prominent actor in Hollywood, is the producer of the film.

Based on the article from News Sky, the filming of this film has finished in August 2019. That was roughly six weeks after the shooting began. Apparently, Chadwick Boseman already knew back then the diagnosis of his disease.

Chadwick’s co-star Viola shared a heartwarming message after his death. The award-winning actress said that it is a big honor for her to work with the actor. “Your talent, your spirit, your heart, your authenticity… It was an honour working beside you, getting to know you,” she said.

Netflix announced that Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is set to premiere on December 18, 2020. Chadwick Boseman has also been recognized for his action-packed movie 21 Bridges which was released last year.
