Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Talks About An Issue With Karen Davila
MANILA BAY BEAUTIFICATION – Recently, Karen Davila interviewed Manila Mayor Isko Moreno regarding the “white sand” issue.
Isko had announced his support for the criticized project. This, despite major concerns from environmental groups and scientists. As such, Karen Davila scheduled an interview with the Mayor on her show, Headstart.
In the interview, Karen acknowledged that Isko supported the project. However, she emphasized that the project was untimely, especially during a pandemic.
Moreno answered that in order to stop or suspend the project, there should be a valid reason for it. Moreover, he cited that the rehabilitation for Manila Bay is long overdue. Additionally, he said that this was a 20-year culmination of what environmentalists fought for.
A few days later, there were several vloggers and netizens that bashed Karen Davila for her interview. According to an article from PEP, the Manila Mayor said:
Medyo nabahala lang ako dahil kung maaalaala ninyo noong in-interview ako ni Ms. Karen Davila, pinipilit kong sagutin yung mga katanungan sa abot ng aking kaalaman at pinipilit kong sagutin siya in a factual manner.
He emphasized that it would be unfair to Karen because she was merely doing her job. Furthermore, he said that he was calling on all vloggers to no stimulate hate against her. As per the article, he wished the vloggers well but emphasized they should be responsible for their words.
