Man Buying Water Charged of Defying Protocol for Taking Off Mask Partially in Bacolod City
BACOLOD CITY- A man who was supposed to buy water was arrested for defying health protocol after taking off his mask partially.
In a Facebook post of a concerned netizen of Bacolod City, a poor man who was supposed to buy water for their supply at home was arrested for allegedly defying health protocols. The uploader Fe Loyola shared the post feeling angry with law enforcers for being inconsiderate.
According to her post, the man partially put down his mask as he was speaking to the seller of the water station. Also, the man has observed the quarantine protocols such as obtaining a quarantined pass, wearing of face masks, and wearing face shields.
However, barangay law enforcers arrested him and brought him to the barangay hall. He was charged with violating the quarantine protocols and obliged to pay the corresponding fine.
The concerned netizen outcry for justice as the arrested man was a public vehicle driver. And due to the guidelines given under the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), public transportation has temporarily suspended.
What’s even worse is, he will pay the fine using the small amount of money he saved and he should pay it on the New Government Center (NGC), which is very far from the location of the arrested driver and amidst the suspended transportation.
Loyola angrily advised the Bacolod City residents that no matter what happens to you do not take off your mask or face shield even if you go through suffocation as long as won’t get arrested for defying the protocols.
