IATF Suspends Inbound Travel Of LSI To Areas In Western Visayas, Iligan, Lanao del Sur

IATF SUSPENDS LSI TRAVEL – Inbound travel of locally stranded individuals (LSI) was temporarily suspended by the interagency task force (IATF) in Western Visayas.

Along with this, the IATF also suspended the inbound travel to Iligan City and Lanao del Sur. The decision was done upon the request of Local Government Units (LGUs) in their respective areas.

Also approved by the members of the IATF, in its Resolution No. 69, are the requests of Region VI, Iligan, and Lanao del Sur to suspend the inbound travel of locally stranded individuals,

Currently, areas in Region VI such as the Negros island has seen a spike in the number of COVID-19 infections which began as LSIs started to enter. As such, the number of local transmissions in Bacolod City, Negros occidental.

According to the LGU in Bacolod, there are currently 1,925 COVID-19 cases in the city. Of that number, 88 percent (1,694 cases) were attributed to local transmissions while 12 percent (231) were LSIs/OFW.

As per the article, Iligan City and Lanao del Sur have been placed under a stricter lockdown or modified enhanced community quarantine until the end of September. Likewise, Bacolod has also imposed and MECQ.
