According to ABS-CBN News, the car’s blaring horn also caught the attention of residents in the said barangay.

Occurred at 4:30 AM, the fire rumoredly caused the car to move from where it was initially parked and also razed nearby trees.

Fearing that an explosion might happen, residents attempted to douse the fire with water from hoses.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) arrived a few minutes after and extinguished the fire.

San Juan Central BFP station’s FO1 Joey Catarining reported that initial probe shows that the fire might have been caused by an electrical issue with the car.

Lady Jane de Paula, a contractor who owns the car, claimed that the car was well-maintained and has been with hem for a long time.

Witnesses reported that they find the incident weird since the car seemed to have moved a few meters from the other side of the street until it collided with an electric post on the curb and blocked the middle of the road.

Furthermore, shards of glass were discovered near the original parking spot of the car.

“Bago s’ya umatras nagkabasag-basag ‘yung salamin. We have yet to figure out paano sya nangyari,”

Based on the report, De Paula said that their CCTV camera was not facing the area and have to check other houses or the barangay for footage. She also said that the only issue with the car is its alarm goes off during heavy rainfall.

Prior to the incident, the city faced heavy rains and loud thunder.

ABS-CBN’s Kristine Sabillo also posted a video of the burning car on Twitter, which you can check right here:
