Drug Surrenderer Shot To Death In His House In Iloilo City

DRUG SURRENDERER – A drug surrenderer was killed by two armed men in his house in Barangay Sto. Niño Sur, Arevalo in Iloilo City.

According to Panay News, the victim, identified as Ludovico Araneta, aged 51, a bookkeeper of a construction company in Mandurriao district, died of mulitiple gunshot wounds at the Western Visayas Medical Center.

Arevalo police chief Police Major Edgar Anonoy reported that the incident occurred at 7 PM.

Two armed men wearing facemasks and helmets suddenly barged into the victim’s residence and one of the assailants shot Araneta with bullets.

The victim’s wife and two grandchildren, on the other hand, were stunned. The two suspects then quicky left on a motorcycle.

“The victim appeared to be the sole target. His wife and two grandchildren were left unharmed,”

Anonoy deduced that the motive of the crime could be work-related, drug-related or more in lieu with the victim’s previous criminal cases.

Araneta was a suspected drug personality, he surrendered to the cops on 2016 and had been residing in Molo district.

Based on the report, the identities of the two gunmen are yet to be disclosed.
